The Chattanooga Chill

The Chattanooga Chill is a Unified Special Olympics Volleyball Team.  A unified team is one that consists of equal numbers of special athletes and non-disabled partners which raises the level of play and competition, promotes social interactions and gives  athletes opportunities to travel across the United States.  This was the Chill’s ninth appearance at the US Open, this year held in Salt Lake City, UT.  Over 580 teams from around the world compete in the Open; there is a Special Olympics division that this year hosted 16 teams.

Members of the team are: Matt Blazek, David Grass, Megan Grass, JJ McShan, Bill Ramsey, Will Ramsey, Jeff Reese (not at the Open this year), Nathan Rice, Michael Scott and Andrew Williams.  The team is coached by Lindy Blazek, assisted by Kathleen Bruns.
